Hello.

My name is Rico Sta Cruz and I love making things. Around the web, I often go by the handle @rstacruz.

I am an entrepreneur who's the cofounder and managing partner of Nadarei (formerly known as Sinefunc), a web development team based in Manila, Philippines. We offer our expertise in full-stack web development with a focus on agile processes and beautiful user interfaces.

Apart from management duties, I am also the lead UI expert of the team and occasional developer.

I am an open-source contributor and I like making things that help people with their work. I mainly work with Ruby and JavaScript projects, both self-started projects and community projects. I am the author of:

My open source projects often got featured in The Changelog podcast & blog and Hacker News, among other venues. I also have a few other smaller projects under my belt.

I am a web developer with my primary coding expertise in Ruby and JavaScript. I make open-source tools, and occasionally help in building HTML5 web applications for our clients at Nadarei.

I am a UI designer with a special focus on building web app interfaces. I love building interfaces that are useable, scalable and bullet-proof.

I speak occasionally about my work, my expertise, and web design & development in general.

I've regularly spoken in various events by the Google Tech User Group in the Philippines on HTML5 and startups, and at the annual Form Function Class conference in Manila about web design. Recently, I was a mentor for Startup Weekend Manila 2012.

This coming November 2012, I will be speaking at JsCamp Asia in Singapore on building HTML5 apps in Backbone.js.

I love the local tech community in Manila. I started the Philippine Web Designers group on Facebook, and I am part of the Philippine Web Designers Organization. I also am occasionally involved in other local tech communities as a speaker, organizer or volunteer.

I blog about my work, open-source web development, and anything else that may be interesting.

You should follow me on Twitter. Get in touch with me by writing me an email at hi@ricostacruz.com.
