This will, of course, be the make-or-break time for RIM. I carry a Bold 9930 for work and an Antdroid (Razr MAXX) for personal. The improvements (or lack thereof) with BlackBerry 10 will determine whether I upgrade to a new BB in Q1 ...or drop it for good and combine work/personal on one device, or carry a separate (non-BB) device for work.

I suspect for many others, this will likewise be the time when they either continue with/ come back to RIM ...or give up on the platform. I hope it's the former.

The fact that RIM is holding this in January, after Christmas, means that either they don't get that they are now playing in a consumer-driven market, or they are unable to adapt to it.

All those folks with the new iPhone 5s and Galaxy S IIIs will just look at this and go, "huh". IF they even look at it.

The RIM implosion has been the slowest IT self-destruction I've seen. Very few (if any other) tech companies have had so long to "get it right" and failed with such "epic-ness" as RIM.
