Bio

PUMP CrossFit & Performance in East Hanover, NJ Owner/Operator I have been involved in competitive athletics from pee-wee football to the highest level possible. Once football was over, I decided to play baseball again, where I was part of a National Championship at the amateur level. The whole while I competed in powerlifting and strongman. I can not remember a time where there was not something to train for. When I opened PUMP, the next transition was competing in CrossFit...well, let's say "forced" to compete. A good deal of friends pushed for me to do it. I am certainly far from the best, and I have too many darn weaknesses, BUT it is a ton of fun. I feel a part of a great community. The friends I have made, and the people I have met, are all incredible. All the above would not be possible without my family behind me. Their support is what makes this all possible. The PUMPsters are there as well...no better group around.

ATHLETE INFORMATION

How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week

My personal nutrition coach is Kiefer...I follow a strict Carb Backloading Style meal plan. Emphasis is changed upon workload and seasonal competitions. www.dangerouslyhardcore.com

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I incorporate CrossFit.com workouts

I write my own programming

I record my workouts

For my CrossFit career, and even since I finished playing football, i have programmed all of my training. That includes when I competed in powerlifting and strongman. I have learned a great deal from mistakes in this sport, and continue to make them. In the end, i love training, and programming myself allows me to grow that much more. Over the past year, I have been able to work with a few coaches to help with goats and movements I am not very good at. Keith Wittenstein, CF HQ Level 1 Coach and owner of CrossFit Virtuosity in Brooklyn, NY, has been an awesome asset. He and I have worked together the past few months to get some kinks out. There is also Michael McKenna in New Park, PA. Mike is an incredible weightlifting coach. We have just started working on technical flaws my lifts have. We need to get those lift techs spot on!!!

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played college sports

I played professional sports

I regularly play recreational sports

Been an Athlete my whole life! Always have a need to compete with myself and against other athletes

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

www.pumpcrossfit.com I am the owner/operator of PUMP CrossFIt & Performance in East Hanover, NJ. The community of CrossFit is incredible...the PUMPsters are amazing. I can not be happier with our affiliation with CrossFit. Everyday is a great experience. Besides creating a special environment at PUMP, i have been able to foster some great friendships within the community.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I do multiple workouts in a day 1x a week

I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week

I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week

I strictly schedule my rest days

Work when I can, rest when I can. Training is based upon needs in and out of PUMP. Over the past year, I have been smarter with my volume and comp prep. On top of it, we have been able to develop some awesome coaches at PUMP. This has allowed for a little more time to focus on training when it needs to happen.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

2-4 years

I started doing CrossFit in order to help PUMP grow. The experience has been paramount and only gets better.
