Kaleidoscope and Text Kills® Rock for a Cause at the K-JAM 2013 Wild Hearts Concert Sat., Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.
MISSION VIEJO, CA – Kaleidoscope is celebrating the month of love with the heart-pounding K-JAM 2013 Wild Hearts concert on Saturday, February 23 beginning at 6 p.m. inside the 10,000 square-foot Suite 201 on the Courtyard level located at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway by the 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo. Kaleidoscope and Text Kills® are teaming up once again this year following the incredible success of the 2012* first-of-its-kind indoor concert where popular teen bands from all over Southern California came together to perform alternative pop music while bringing awareness about an important issue on not texting while driving.
*Photos from 2012 inaugural event available to be emailed upon request.
“The K-JAM Wild Hearts concert event is for teens from local high schools and junior high schools as well as adult fans. The purpose is to create a fun and safe place to go on a Saturday night, where people can enjoy music and spend time with friends while giving back to the community, supporting worthy causes, and raising awareness about distracted driving,” said Lauran Roberson, Director of Marketing for Kaleidoscope.
The event will have five bands during five hours of energetic and upbeat entertainment with live indie rock and punk melody performances by Crown Valley Parkway (Laguna Niguel), Juice Box Bandits (Fullerton), False Puppet (Santa Barbara), Ugly Paint (Laguna Niguel), and Later Days (Los Angeles). The emcee for the evening will be Text Kills® Producer/Volunteer Blake Stoudt of Laguna Niguel. Tickets are $10 at the door with limited V.I.P. tickets available for $20. A portion of this event’s proceeds will be donated to Text Kills® to help fund its nationwide trek to put an end to distracted driving and make our roads safer for everybody. The Text Kills® Tour Bus will be at the event, and concert goers will be encouraged to physically sign the bus, showing that they agree that “Texting While Driving is a Bad Practice.” Since its inception in 2010, the efforts of Text Kills® have resulted in more than 75,000 people who have taken the pledge.
“The K-JAM Wild Hearts Concert promises to be a great local outreach effort,” said Wayne Irving, Text Kills® Founder. “We love to support up-and-coming talents, especially when they are passionate about more than just playing music. You have to stand for something; Standing up against texting and driving could save lives, and these kids understand that message.”
Other event sponsors and partners include Fan Apps, 104FM LA, Iconosys, Inc., Bully Buster USA, Case Sandberg Photography, Zen Dojos Martial Arts Academy, Monster Offers, and the Travel Orange County Visitor Guide.
About Text Kills®: Text Kills® is a donation-supported outreach program that regularly partners with law enforcement, fire/safety authorities, schools, other non-profits, and community outreach programs in an effort to educate and increase public awareness concerning the dangers of cell phone use while driving or when used to bully and harass (cyber bullying). Text Kills® has a proven record in community outreach and safety awareness, and is dedicated to educating about the deadly issue of distracted driving. The Text Kills® Tour Bus traverses the country, collecting signatures on its sides from people pledging not to text and drive. textkills.com.
