The Ushi No Tane websites specialize in information about the Nintendo console versions of the Harvest Moon and Legend of the River King games. Both game genres are created and published in Japan by Marvelous AQL. The North American localization is handled by Natsume, while Rising Star takes care of the European release.
The latest version of Harvest Moon in various regions of the world are Bokujyou Monogatari: Hajimari no Daichi (Japan), Harvest Moon: A New Beginning (North America), and Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns (Europe).
The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (2009)
Since 2000, Ushi no Tane has been run by a grouchy old lady who happens to be fond of video game agriculture. It is not officially affiliated, sponsored, endorsed, or employed by the developers of Harvest Moon or River King.

Posted at 10:28 on 31 Jan 2013Well there's still not much going on in the Harvest Moon world. Marvelous AQL recently announced their mobile version of Harvest Moon (Pocket Ranch, which was cancelled in NA) is now available on the d Games network. Still no word on the North American 3DS eShop release of the old Gameboy and River King games.
On the other hand, those who are Rune Factory fans will be glad to hear that
XSEED has announced a Summer 2013 NA release for
Rune Factory 4. They are also releasing several games in 2013 from the Ys series, Valhalla Knights 3, and the new Suda51 game, Killer is Dead.
One of these days I should finish Rune Factory 2... maybe buy Rune Factory 3? So much to play, so little free time to do it!

Posted at 13:24 on 08 Dec 2012 Natsume is still working on making more of its games available for digital download. The first is the amazing Playstation 2 game,
Chulip, which is now available on the Playstation Network for $9.99. Your goal in this game is to kiss the girl of your dreams, but you have to kiss the
other people who live in the area too! Kiss a lion bath-house keeper! Kiss a ghost! Kiss the man who pops up out of the sewer! Kiss a robot! Kiss, kiss kiss! *smoooch*
Another game that is now available for download is
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning! The game can now be purchased directly from the Nintendo 3DS eShop for $39.99. Harvest Moon games are often difficult to find if you didn't pre-order at release, so having it easily accessible for purchase for those who want it later is absolutely wonderful.
Nintendo of Europe recently published their expected release schedule for the first half of next year, and
Harvest Moon GB and
Legend of the River King were listed as being released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Quarter 2 (April, May, or June) of 2013. Finally! What that means for North America is unknown; do we get it before then or do we get it along with Europe? *shrug*
Back to work I go, but only after I smother Mr.Fogu with kisses...

What started out as a low-priority ticket to resolve an simple email problem
snowballed into an all-out server re-image scramble. I guess the Witch sprinkled some of her teddy bear magic and caused quite a gleeful
mess, but things are getting back into place bit-by-bit. There are still pieces missing though, and hopefully that can be resolved shortly.
Hopefully shortly, anyway. It wasn't on the to-do list this week...
At this moment, the databases are not functioning, which includes the message forum, the monster list on the Rune Factory site, the Cookbook and recipes on the Tale of Two Towns site, and various other things here and there. The process to install the db server started 2 hours ago and it still going. After that, I have to tinker with the forum to make sure it is all in-place before I reopen it.
I wanted to play with my birthday WiiU tomorrow
daanggg iiitttt...
On the bright side, the email notification for new forum account registrations will be working
Update: (Nov 19 @ 2pm) Forum is now operational!
