This year, we’ve designed a special 1-day Educator Summit exclusively for secondary and post-secondary educators on Monday, November 26, where educators can concentrate on classes about best practices in education and network with each other, then attend other sessions throughout the week.

The AU Experience from the Student and Educator Perspective

AU 2011 was a great event for students and educators. Whether they were discussing the best approach to incorporate BIM into the classroom, the role of animation technology in the secondary classroom, or some the best work done by students all of our education attendees came away inspired. Listen to change agents talk about learning and teaching in the digital world. Each represents different backgrounds and experiences, but every speaker will challenge our perceptions and instill optimism for the future of education.

Educator Summit Best Practice Classes

The Educator Summit will have specific tracks across various fields of study for secondary and postsecondary educators. These classes will feature best practices in the use of technology in the classroom to engage and inspire today’s students.

Creative Studio & Education Lounge

This year, the Creative Studio & Education Lounge teams are joining forces to spark the curiosity and creativity in AU attendees of all ages. Modeled after a maker space, the lounge provides you with hands-on time with cool free software and digital fabrication tools, plus learn how you can make a difference in helping shape the next generation of architects, designers and engineers.

Educator Reception

Monday, November 26, 6:30–9:30 p.m.

Immediately following the Educator Summit, all educators are invited to join us for a casual evening at the impressive Music Hall in the Mandalay Bay. This event is all about food, drinks, and more networking with other educators and Autodesk staff. It’s a great start to your AU week and we hope to see you there.

Educator Birds of a Feather Event

Wednesday, November 28, 8:00–9:30 a.m. (breakfast available at 7:30 a.m.)

Now in its 4th year, the Education “Birds of a Feather” event is all about you. This event features 6 academic speakers, each presenting a project in short form. With ample breaks and a casual environment, it is ideal for networking between educators and with Autodesk staff. In the past, we have seen this event spark new collaborations and start interesting discussions on pertinent topics in education.

AU Student and Industry Mixer

Wednesday, November 28, 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

Are you looking for a great new addition to your team? Get involved at the AU Student and Industry Mixer in the Creative Studio & Education Lounge and meet the engineers, architects, and designers of tomorrow. Learn how these top students are designing the future and you may just find your next great hire.

Students will showcase their portfolios via our Autodesk Education student portfolio app, so you can learn more about their experience designing course projects with Autodesk solutions.
