The Global Water Partnership (GWP), with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) DHI Centre for Water and Environment, and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), has published a technical focus paper titled “The Role of Decision Support Systems (DSS) and Models in Integrated River Basin Management (IWRM).”

This meeting will be attended by young people, from the ages of 15-24, and convene under the theme of health and environment.

The 68th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 68) will convene at UN Headquarters on Tuesday, 17 September 2013.

The 69th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 69) will convene at UN Headquarters on Tuesday, 16 September 2014.

The 70th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 70) will convene at UN Headquarters on Tuesday, 15 September 2015.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has released the first in a series of working papers on agroforestry. The guide, titled "Advancing Agroforestry on the Policy Agenda," is aimed at decision makers, NGOs and government agencies to promote the integration of agroforestry into national strategies.

Over 100 UN officials, civil society representatives and stakeholders convened in Panama City, Panama to discuss how to reflect citizen security and violence in the post-2015 agenda. The meeting focused on the relationships between citizen insecurity, violence and sustainable development, as part of the post-2015 Global Consultation on Conflict, Violence and Disaster.

The event is being held on the occasion of the global launch of the International Year of the Quinoa (General Assembly resolution A/RES/66/221).

The Expert Group Meeting (EGM) organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will examine: existing institutional frameworks, legislation and policies with provisions on socioeconomic considerations; capacity-building activities related to biosafety and socioeconomic considerations; existing expertise and experience; and other policy initiatives concerning social and economic impact assessments.

The seventh meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Conference of the Parties serving as Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety is tentatively scheduled to be held from 6-10 October 2014.
