Tandem

spacer The tandem freefall is the simplest and most popular way to experience the thrill of skydiving.

After a 20 to 30 minute training session, you and your instructor will be harnessed together in a special parachute system that is built for two people. You will exit the airplane from an altitude between 10,000 and 14,000 feet (occasionally altitude might vary due to weather conditions or aircraft availability) for an incredible 30-50 second freefall).

Once your canopy is open at approximately 5,500 feet, you will enjoy an extended canopy flight descending slowly making gentle turns through the sky for approximately 5 minutes allowing you to enjoy the breath taking views of the Quabbin Reservoir, Mount Monadnock and even Boston!

Tandems require much less training than any of the other skydiving methods and are perfect for those of you who may want to experience skydiving only one time or who just want to be certain this is the sport for you. Tandems are also the most economical way to check out the sport.

If you really enjoyed yourself and wish to continue, you then have the option of Accelerated Freefall Program or our AFF Camp at a reduced rate.

  • Requires about 30 minutes of training on freefall body position and canopy control; you and our Tandem Instructor will fly together under one large parachute.
  • Weather permitting you will jump from 10,000 to 14,000 feet for a thrilling 50 second freefall and a five minute parachute ride.
  • Our tandem parachutes are big. The objective is for you and your Tandem Instructor to float through the air to a gentle landing.
  • Our main landing area is located right behind the main Jumptown building so your family and friends will be able to see you both boarding the aircraft and landing under canopy with a big smile on your face.
  • Tandem freefall is a great introduction to the sport of skydiving, and a tandem jump is an ideal gift for someone who has "always wanted to try it".
  • Our scenery is incredible. The Quabbin Reservoir, Mount Monadnock and even Boston on a clear day are visible from the air.
  • After you make your tandem jump, our transition price reduces your cost if you then would like to move to our AFF training program. You also have the option of continuing through our Tandem Progression program.
  • Weight limit is 240 lbs (height and weight proportionate).
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
