Who are the Best Domain Registrars?
Lifehacker is doing another"Who is the Best Registrar" survey, and of course we've been out there tweeting and #fb-ing for everybody to head on over there and vote….for us Of course.
But it got me thinking this morning, shameless self promotion aside, who are the best registrars out there? Aside from us, I mean.
A few come to mind:
Hover.com: Hover really nails simplicity and streamlining things, and in fact they've sat down with us and helped us streamline some of our processes. Because we are so "DNS-centric" we sometimes over-complicate things… Read the rest
How to Leave easyDNS
[ If you're interested in the backstory to this post, read on, if you want to skip straight to how to get the hell out here, skip down to How To Leave easyDNS ]
I have been listening to Doc Searls' The Intention Economy lately, it is an amazing book for a number of reasons – but suffice it to say (for now) that the book introduces "VRM" – Vendor Relationship Management. 14 years of easyDNS and Four Core Values
easyDNS is 14 years old today! What a ride it's been.
We started the day on July 31st, 1998 as 3 founders, with no dependents and 0 customers. Today we have 16 full-time employees here, a 17th in India, more kids and families than I can count (with… Read the rest

– ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement”
While the rest of the world faces austerity measures, governments and people are being told to tighten their belts and make do with less. The tech sector’s lot in life is usually in line with this, facing increased competition and falling pricing power. Not so for Verisign, who will soon have it’s contract to manage the .COM registry rubber-stamped by ICANN, locking in an annual 7% price hike into the base cost of .com

How SOPA Will Destroy The Internet
As you read this, please keep in mind that I say it all with a track record of nearly 14 years of being proactive and having a zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activity and network abuse on our system. We have great relationships with Law Enforcement Agencies both here in Canada and abroad. We are always helpful and (usually) happy to answer questions, and help LEA understand the complexities and nuances of the internet. We've had the good fortune to meet some really intelligent and clued in cybercrime units. We participate in numerous communities in combating .net abuse and cybercrime.
