RIPs dont like layers, and even so - you dont want their machinery to flatten the files, you wanna be in control of it yourself.
Unless you actually get one of your potatochop-PDF files to pass a preflight check in an app like Pitstop or Flightcheck you dont wanna hand it over to a printer
