Rob Cesternino is the host of the Reality TV podcast, “Rob Has a Podcast”. Talking with the biggest guests from the world of Reality TV, Rob has built up a show that is routinely featured in “What’s Hot” in the iTunes “TV & Film” category. This year, Rob spoke at the 2012 Blog World Expo in New York about the ways to build a successful podcast. ”Rob Has a Podcast” has been nominated for Best Entertainment Podcast of the year at the Podcast Awards in 2010 and 2011. Rob credits much of the success of “Rob Has a Podcast” to the cultivation of an extremely engaged audience who are asked to participate in the show as much as possible.
Rob’s love for discussing Reality TV started during the first season of the TV series “Survivor” and ultimately apply to be on the show. When finally cast, Rob finished in third place in “Survivor: The Amazon” and was referred to by Jeff Probst as “The Smartest Player to Never Win the Game”. Rob’s successful stint on the show led to Rob being asked to return to compete against the Survivor greats on “Survivor All-Stars”. Following Survivor, Rob moved to Los Angeles where he helped create the E! Television series “Kill Reality” which documented the making of a horror movie starring all reality stars.
Rob has an extensive background in digital content creation and internet marketing. In 2006, Rob co-founded the company, Iron Sink Media, which created one of the first interactive webisodic series’ on YouTube, “Soup of the Day”. In 2007, Rob was the co-executive producer of the first original web series created for MySpace.TV, “Roommates”. Rob also co-created the web series franchise “DownstairsGuys” and “UpstairsGirls” which have over 300,000,000 views on YouTube alone. In 2009, Rob was recognized with a Streamy Award for his work in producing “The Shatner Project”, an internet documentary series following the adventures of William Shatner.
