Julia is a writer, blogger, and public speaker focusing on science and rationality, and the co-host of the official podcast of the New York City Skeptics, “Rationally Speaking.” She holds a degree in statistics from Columbia University.

Anna has previously done machine learning research for NASA and applied mathematics research on the statistics of phage metagenomics. She holds a degree in mathematics from UC Santa Barbara.

Michael has extensive experience with teaching and curriculum design, both in and out of academia. He holds a masters degree in math from the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. in math & science education from the University of California at San Diego.
Paul Christiano
SPARC Organizer
Paul Christiano recently finished an undergraduate degree in mathematics at MIT. His research on algorithms and cryptography has been presented at top conferences in theoretical computer science. In 2008 he was one of six students to represent the U.S. at the International Mathematics Olympiad.

Eliezer has written extensively on rationality, including the most-reviewed Harry Potter fan fiction on the internet, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, and a sequence of articles on reasoning, biases, probability theory, and philosophy of science.
Andrew Critch

Andrew Critch is a PhD student in math at UC Berkeley, where he co-organized the first COGS causal inference symposium, ran a highly-attended rationality seminar for math grad students, and is now helping develop an undergraduate course on rationality and scientific method.
Yan Zhang

Yan Zhang is a NSF graduate fellow in mathematics at MIT and a co-founder of Mercurian, a collaborative healthcare startup. He was the 2002 USA Computing Olympiad Open national champion, a member of the 2003 USA International Math Olympiad team, and the 2006 captain of Harvard University’s ACM programming team.
