Who am I, and why should you listen to me?

My name is Mari Ann Lisenbe and I am a certified Yogafit Instructor. I have taught yoga for over 7 years. And, I’m a Certified Metabolic Typing(R) Advisor.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Yeah, I know that has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition, but when I was in school, the only “nutrition” degree offered was for “Hospital Dietitian”. And, if you’re into nutrition at all, you probably share my feelings about hospital food!

Instead, I’ve applied my use of the scientific method to study fitness, nutrition and health on my own. And, the things that I’ve learned are evident in my own life.

My husband & I have 2 grown sons. We’ve been married since 1975 and live near Houston, Texas.

You see – I spent most of my life battling weight issues. So, I understand the struggle that people go through. Lose weight. Gain it back. Lose it again, only to gain it all back – AGAIN!

The emotional and physical strain this yo-yo pattern places on our bodies is just crazy.

Then, in the late 1990′s, I finally “got it all together”. Since that time, I’ve been able to maintain my ideal weight , and now – at age 55 – I’m in the best shape of my life.

And, as an added bonus, I rarely ever get sick anymore! Before this time, I was a prime target for every respiratory infection and virus going around. But now, I usually don’t catch things, and if I do, I recover VERY quickly.

Over the past 10 years, I have developed the MARI Method. This is a culmination of everything I do to stay fit and healthy. Unlike some programs that only address one or two areas of fitness, the MARI Method addresses all 3 areas you must “get right” if you want to have lasting weight loss:

There is SO much more to a Registered Dietitian now than what u think! spacer just wanted to share that information since the Dietetics/nutritionist field has changed tremendously!

I would like to believe this Courtney. Yet, when I visited my aunt in the hospital last week, I still saw that her tray had artificially flavored/colored jello filled sweetened with splenda, chicken broth made from bouillon containing msg, and tea with packets of Equal.
