Welcome to the Golden Dozen, and our 221st weekly round-up from the Lib Dem blogosphere … Featuring the seven most popular stories beyond Lib Dem Voice according to click-throughs from the Aggregator (8-14 May, 2011), together with a hand-picked quintet, normally courtesy of LibDig, you might otherwise have missed.

Don’t forget: you can sign up to receive the Golden Dozen direct to your email inbox — just click here — ensuring you never miss out on the best of Lib Dem blogging.

As ever, let’s start with the most popular post, and work our way down:

1. How I became a poster boy for Lib Dem misery by Andy Strange on Strange Thoughts.
Chirpy chap takes a pop at the paps.

2. This Is Likely To Be The Least Popular Post I’ve Ever Written by Jason Kay on Neue Politik.
Jason says: “I hope David Laws returns to front bench politics, I believe he’d be an asset to our Government and our country. But I also hope he and others learn from his mistake.”

3. The Lib Dem Leadership Don’t Get It – But I Do (a post that has been brewing a long time) on Jennie Rigg’s blog.
No more broken promises, reminds Jennie.

4. Enough is enough by Michael Gradwell on Politics for Novices.
Michael mourns the loss of the rank and file.

5. One year on, what have we done? by Nich Starling on Norfolk Blogger.
Nich’s verdict on Lib Dem achievements in government so far.

6. LibDem campaigns team rushes out email in face of Guido rumours by Lisa Harding on Welcome to Spiderplant Land.
Lisa wants to close the feedback loop.

7. Dear Nick, the cause of Scottish liberalism has been set back 50 years by Andrew Page on A Scottish Liberal.
Andrew’s response to Nick Clegg’s email to party members.

And now to the five blog-posts that come highly recommended, regardless of the number of Aggregator click-throughs they attracted. These are normally chosen using the LibDig bookmarking website for party members, the site where you can highlight blog-posts you want to share with your fellow Lib Dems. Remember, though, you’re still more than welcome to nominate for the Golden Dozen a Lib Dem blog article published in the past seven days – your own, or someone else’s – using the steam-powered method of e-mail … all you have to do is drop a line to [email protected]

8. Where next for the Liberal Democrats? by Mark Valladares on The view from Creeting St Peter.
“A prescription for the re-building now required.” (Submitted by oneexidow via LibDig.)

9. Making opinion polls more useful: Learning from the highs and the lows by Matthew Gibson on Solution Focused Politics.
“Putting opinion polls of the Lib Dems since 1988 into context and learning what they really teach us.” (Submitted by MatthewJ via LibDig.)

10. We have a mountain to reclimb by Stephen Glenn on Stephen’s Liberal Journal.
“Stephen’s back blogging with a stoical approach to Thursday.” (Submitted by oneexwidow via LibDig.)

11. If Eurovision used FPTP on Lorna Spenceley’s blog.
“How Bosnia & Herzegovina would’ve won Eurovision with just 11.6% of the vote under first-past-the-post. (Though as it happens I think they were better than Azerbaijan, but still…)” (Submitted by stephenftall via LibDig.)

12. How I narrowly avoided becoming a poster boy for Lib Dem misery on Stephen Tall’s blog.
How a cheeky chap pipped the paps.

And that’s it for another week. Happy blogging ‘n’ reading ‘n’ nominating.

Number 9 on our Polling history is fascinating. The last time we spent more than a short period at present levels was 1995-2001. If nothing much changes inthe next 4 years that suggests a 2015 performance similar to 2001s.
A small step back, not meltdown.
