Saw Prometheus yesterday, in a room full of London film critics (they all looked *exactly* like the guy in the YouTube cartoon below, see comments). If this is a revival of the Alien franchise, I'm a mightily disappointed fan-boy, I must say. Sets amazing, monsters splendidly intestinal. But the dialogue felt like it was written by GSCE-drama students (four too many "God Damn You To Hell!!"s), the acting straight out of a Roger Corman movie. Micheal Fassbender's android David was every … RP-speaking-super-baddie cliche rolled into one. Will I go and see it again to make sure? Er, probably. More

I really like these Sony Futurescapes - four little video scenarios of how we might use consumer technology in 2025, with a lot of sustainable/green awareness in them. I like the "Prosperity Redefined" one best.

Interesting and I too am optimistic about the future - we need optimism. The present however is my current concern and sees me and many other skillful and experienced individuals battery-farmed by the growing number of governmental organisations like Jobcentre+ where our personal data is harvested & stored by software originating in the USA.
Even as an out-and-out independence supporter, but also on the Left generally, I'm getting a little anxious about some of the policy positions being taken by the SNP in order to "get the population over the line" of voting for a nation-state. This compromise on NATO membership is an acute case in point (never mind the Murdoch-courting). Anyone in KILTR community feel expert enough to comment on my Scotsman article here? Not my field, and I need help...
