Edit your closet by taking a wardrobe vacation
One of the hardest parts of editing one’s closet is knowing where to begin. There are many methods of sorting through the keepers, the gotta-go’s and the think-about’s.
But if you don’t have time for a thorough edit, or just want to jump-start the process, here’s a quick way to begin. It’s fun, too.
A set of Louis Vuitton luggage, the most impossibly stylish way to travel.
Imagine you’re about to leave on vacation: one week, minimum; two weeks is better (indulge yourself, it’s imaginary!). You want to look and feel your best where-ever you go, so you’ll choose the pieces that you love to wear. Bonus points if they can be mixed together, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
So, you’ve got your (imaginary Louis Vuitton) suitcase out …
What do you pack? Write them down, set them to one side, or pull them out entirely.
The items you’ve chosen are the foundation of your well-edited closet. (For now, we’ll assume that they are in good condition, not painfully out of style and fit you well.)
Congratulations on a good start. Lie back in your chaise longue — it was a beach vacation, right? — and enjoy your pina colada. You’ve got more work to do when you get back.
