This is a simple way to play with an accelerometer outputs.

The mouse cursor is controlled by the X and Y axis of the accelerometer, and the Z axis is reserved for the mouse click.

The new position of the cursor is the sum of the actual position and the difference between the output of the accelerometer and the horizontal/rest position.

It uses a Demonstration board with a PIC 18F4550 USB and an ADXL330 accelerometer.
