Located in the geographic center of the state, Pineville's unique character is rooted in its 275 year history - a history full of colorful people and fascinating tales. Downtown Pineville still boasts much of the heritage with buildings built before the turn of the century, cemeteries that date back to the 1700's and the only museum in the state that focuses on city government. At the same time newer contemporary developments show our city's tremendous pride in our future.

The city is built on the rich diversity of our arts and culture, education, business and services, recreation, and volunteer sectors. We are a city that takes pride in all that we do, working in partnership with the strong communities within our city. We are also proud to be home to Louisiana College, which is consistently ranked by US News and World Report as one of "America's Best Colleges."
