*Transportation-related security problems, deficiencies or vulnerabilities include the following (please select the appropriate contact form for other issues):

Unusual Activity Concerning Transportation- Related Assets

  • Vehicle, aircraft, or pipelines with unusual modifications or activity.
  • Pilots, drivers or other transportation personnel appearing to be under the control of others.

Suspicious Activity

  • Unfamiliar persons loitering for extended periods in the vicinity of parked vehicles or aircraft, staff lounges, other areas deemed inappropriate.
  • Persons who appear to be posing as employees, security personnel, emergency medical personnel or using uniforms or vehicles to gain access to the transportation facilities.
  • Suspicious vehicle, aircraft, or rental requests (including persons wishing to rent conveyances without presenting proper credentials or identification).
  • Persons who present apparently valid credentials, but who do not display a corresponding level of knowledge.
  • Persons who present credentials that appear forged or altered.
  • Events or circumstances that do not fit the pattern of lawful, normal activity at the transportation facility.

Threatening Activity towards Transportation Security

  • Anyone making threats regarding vehicles, aircraft, or transportation systems.
  • Any pilot or driver who makes threats or statements inconsistent with normal uses of vehicle or aircraft.

Office Of Civil Rights

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees, former employees, and applicants for employment who feel that they have been subjected to discriminatory employment practices, unlawful harassment, or retaliation may contact the Office of Civil Rights to initiate the equal employment opportunity complaint process and to seek resolution of their complaints. Failure to make a timely complaint may result in a loss of rights.

Members of the traveling public who believe that they have been unlawfully discriminated against by a TSA employee may contact the External Compliance Division in the Office of Civil Rights to have their concerns addressed, by sending an Email to TSA.OCR -ExternalCompliance@dhs.gov or by calling the Office of Civil Rights.

Besides being a resource for TSA employees, the Office of the Ombudsman may be able to assist members of the general public who have questions or concerns about TSA processes, programs or procedures.

The general public should bring issues to the TSA Ombudsman only if all other available resources for resolution have been unsuccessful. Assistance from the Ombudsman is confidential, neutral, and informal.

The Office of the Ombudsman can answer inquiries, facilitate communications, and identify options for problem resolution brought by the general public. The Ombudsman does not accept notices on behalf of the TSA; act as a substitute for other formal complaint avenues; or intervene on questions or issues regarding DHS Trip.

The Ombudsman is also available to TSA employees wishing to discuss concerns or issues regarding the workplace.
