The Open University's formal governance structure

The OU's governance structure was established in its Charter on 23 April 1969. There are three formal bodies:  the Council, the Senate and General Assembly.  


Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor

Lord Puttnam of Queensgate is the Open University's Chancellor, and Baron Haskins of Skidby our Pro-Chancellor.


Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor is the academic and administrative head of the University. Martin Bean is the current Vice-Chancellor.

 


Executive Team

The Vice-Chancellor's executive team is responsible for key areas of University policy.
