About MFTs

Family Therapists are highly qualified to provide mental health services. All licensed MFTs must have a minimum of a master’s degree and at least two years of post-graduate supervised clinical experience. Thirty percent of all MFTs have a doctoral degree. Currently, 50 states and the District of Columbia recognize and license Family Therapists as independent mental health providers.
