Sea Salt will close after the new year.Photo: Courtesy of Sea Salt

A few weeks ago there was news that Lalime's/Fonda owners Haig and Cindy Krikorian were selling off both Sea Salt and T-Rex to new owners. Today, Diablo Dish reports on the plans for Sea Salt, which is set to close for a few weeks at the beginning of January. It will reopen at Eat with a new, non-seafood-based menu of share plates by the same executive chef, Quyen Vu. Later, in mid- to late-2013, the side dining room will be transformed into a cocktail lounge called, simply, Lounge, after which the place will be called Eat + Lounge. As for T-Rex, they will remain open, and this week they launched a new, less BBQ-centric menu. [Diablo Dish, Earlier]
