OpenDNS services: many requests to comcast.net?

    Soooo, looking at my OpenDNS stats here. 1600+ requests to comcast.net (our ISP) yesterday. Wondering why? We don't use them for DNS, nor for incoming mail, nor, for the most part, for outgoing mail, and nobody in the house uses their website for anything. Not really alarmed, but curious...

    It seems you have a DNS suffix defined in your network settings which is often appended to your DNS lookups.
    ipconfig /all
    Try to get rid of this *.comcast.net DNS suffix. It may be configured on your router.

    Thanks. It looks like comcast serves up hsd1.nj.comcast.net to the router via DHCP. I reset the router to use '.' as the domain, let's see if that makes any difference.

    That would normally be the exactly correct thing to do. Should work as soon as computers renew their lease.
