Electrical and computer engineers create devices and technologies that affect all aspects of our lives. Things many of us take for granted, such as cell phones, desktop computers, and Global Positioning Systems, would not exist without electrical and computer engineers.

Beyond these everyday devices, WPI student and faculty researchers work on groundbreaking technologies that deal with the most critical problems facing society. Systems that will be able to find firefighters trapped in a burning building and neuroprosthetics that will look and function like natural limbs are currently being developed on WPI’s campus.

With innovations that progress from concept to production in a matter of months, or even weeks, electrical and computer engineering is arguably one of the fastest growing and broadest of all technical fields.
