Update Windows 8 apps

Download and install updates to Windows 8 apps.

Apps need to be updated just like any other software does.

Update Apps in Windows 8

  1. Select the Store app.

    Notice the number at the bottom right of the Store app. That’s how many apps have updates available.

  2. Select Update at the top right of the screen.

  3. Select the app(s) that you want to update and then select Install.

  4. The new version of the app(s) will be downloaded and updated.

    Just a number? This can be confusing for some. It should have an ‘Update’ logo, two arrows circling each other.
