Omar has been developing for the web since the Y2k scare.  Over the last ten years he has become versed in multiple languages that include ActionScript 3, JavaScript, PHP, CSS/XHTML, SQL, and SQLite.  Aside from being a Senior Software Architect at Almer/Blank, he is the active manager of LA Flash Adobe User Group, and is on the faculty at the Rich Media Institute.  He is an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), with certifications in Flex and AIR, and an Adobe Flex Champion.

In 2007, Omar helped co-write what was at the time the most advanced Flex application development book for publisher Friends of ED.  He uses this same expertise to help develop and implement the always evolving coding standards and best practices that help Almer/Blank run like a well oiled machine.

During his free time, Omar also has contributed to open source initiatives, being one of the authors of the PureMVC PHP language port, and release several ActionScript 3 libraries and applications, including the first Zend framework AMF service browser.  When he’s not writing code, writing about code, or thinking about how to write code faster, he’s likely cheering on the Lakers, jamming on his bass guitar,  or hanging out with his significant other. spacer
