Product BacklogTrack Feature Requests, Change Requests, and Bugs on one Product Backlog

Ensure your team is always working on the most important features first. The Product Backlog allows the Product Owner to prioritize all features in one place. You also can use the Product Backlog to prioritize different types of stories such as user stories, change requests and bugs.

Take advantage of drag-and-drop ordering and easy paging; tiled cards make it easier to see more stories at once. Create detailed descriptions, add attachments, and capture all of the discussion related to a story.

VelocityKnow your velocity so your team can commit to the right amount of work

Velocity is how quickly your team can work through the items assigned to them. Discover your teams’ average velocity and use it as a benchmark to measure your team’s improvement over time. The Velocity Alert warns you when you add too many stories to a Sprint so you can set realistic goals.

Story and Task Estimation ToolsMake more accurate estimates

Get a feeling for the relative size of user stories on the Backlog by estimating with story points. Story points are a relative measurement which helps the Product Owner understand if something is worth the time required to implement it. SonicAgile offers four ways to do story point estimation: Story Points, Fibonacci Sequence, t-shirt sizes or coffee cup sizes.

After you break a story into tasks, you can estimate the remaining work on each task by time. Know how much work is left before a story is done.

Handle Scope Creepcall attention to the fact when delivering a lot more than was promised (and quoted)

When a Stakeholder evolves a story significantly over time by adding more and more acceptance criterion, identify the point when the story has become “a horse of a different color.” Create a Change Request for the Work Item’s additional acceptance criterion and link it back to the original story.

Sprint BacklogDecide what the Team is doing next

Sprints allow you to focus your team’s effort by working for a fixed amount of time and then examining your progress. Set whatever sprint length makes sense for your team and develop a predictable rhythm.

You control which stories are added to a sprint – just drag-and-drop stories from the Product Backlog into your sprint during your planning sessions.

Email IntegrationCapture all story and task discussions in a single place

Your team communicates through email. Don’t risk losing important discussions about stories and tasks by burying these discussions in your inbox. SonicAgile enables you to capture and preserve all emails related to a story or a task automatically without interrupting the normal flow of communication.

Burndown Charts and ReportsSee your progress

Easily email and print reports. SonicAgile supports the following reports:

  • Release Burndown — shows the trend line for all work on the project.
  • Sprint Burndown by Story Points– shows the trend line for the burndown of stories in the current sprint.
  • Sprint Burndown by Estimated Time– shows the trend line for the burndown of tasks in the current sprint.
  • Acceptance Criteria– lets you know at a glance which Acceptance Criteria have been met.

Project AssetsMake it easy to share project assets

The completely customizable Scrumboard enables you to configure the task states that are meaningful to your team such as ToDo, InProgress, and Done. Find out where any bottlenecks are occurring– allowing you to adapt your process and improve velocity.

Track all communication about tasks in one place, so every developer has access to the same information.
