The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is the world’s largest professional society concerned with the causes and treatments of blood disorders. The mission of the Society is to further the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood, bone marrow, and the immunologic, hemostatic and vascular systems, by promoting research, clinical care, education, training, and advocacy in hematology..

ASH Headquarters

The Society’s headquarters is located at 2021 L Street NW, in Washington, DC, within walking distance of several Metro stations on the Blue/Orange and Red lines and a short cab ride from Reagan National Airport. ASH members are invited to visit the building and take advantage of the fitness center on the first floor as well as the “ASH Club,” which is modeled after the “airport club” concept and provides computer access and informal meeting space. There are no fees for these member benefits.

The ASH office building was built with materials that were regionally sourced and manufactured using recycled products, and its abundant natural light, low-flow plumbing and water-efficient showerheads, motion-sensitive lighting system, and low-energy light fixtures make it extremely cost- and energy-efficient. In September of 2010, the building was designated LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum for New Construction, making ASH the first nonprofit association in the country to achieve LEED Platinum certification on a commercial office building larger than 80,000 square feet.
