The assessment exercise, that was officially launched in November 2011, is by far the most ambitious and important one ever attempted nationwide. As a matter of fact, it involves over 100 institutions and almost 70 thousand authors, for an estimated total 184 thousand research products to be assessed by 14 committees, composed of 450 members.
