Héctor "Macho" Camacho Is Dead: Boxing Icon Dies at 50

Puerto Rican boxer Hector "Macho" Camacho died Saturday, Nov. 24, after being shot in the face four days earlier, according to Usmagazine.com. He was 50 years old.
Camacho was shot and critically injured on Tuesday night in Puerto Rico. The former lightweight boxing champion was in critical condition after surviving a shooting that left another man dead, reported E! Online.
According to police reports, Hector was riding in the passenger seat of a Mustang right in front of a bar in his hometown of Bayamón. Suddenly another car pulled up and someone opened fire, killing the driver in Camacho’s car.
The 50-year-old, who recently participated on Univision’s Mira Quien Baila, was hospitalized after suffering a gunshot wound to his jaw.
The latest medical tests on the former three-time boxing world champion confirmed that he was clinically brain dead, a physician told reporters.
