    How do to sign up for an account?

    Just click on the sign-up link in the top of page and follow our registration process. Easy, right?

    What is the difference between this account, Fans.marvel.com and my previous account with Marvel.com?

    All accounts are the same across marvel.com and fans.marvel.com. Now you will have the ability to create a profile and communicate with other marvel fans as well as official staff members through our blogs and message boards.

    I’m having trouble signing in (won’t accept email/won’t send my password).

    Why was my user name changed?

    We have recently updated our system and changed the requirements for member names. In a small number of cases, where previous usernames did not match these new requirements, those member names were changed to accommodate. Pardon the inconvenience.

    Can I change my username?

    Unfortunately we do not allow for member name to be changed at this time.

    How do I change my email address?

    Login and go to control panel within Marvel.com.

    It says my email address is connected to another account. What does this mean?

    It means you might have set up an account in the past that uses this email address. Our system does not allow for multiple email addresses. If you need help with retrieving your password or other registration issues, go here: marvel.com/company/index.htm?sub=user_help.php

    How can I communicate with Marvel staff members?

    First sign up and create an account on Fans.marvel.com. Already signed up? Now you can communicate directly with Official Staff Members through our blogs and message boards. Post away!

    Will I be able to have my own blog on the site?

    At this time, only Official Staff Members can have a blog.

    What is the maximum number of photos I can upload?

    Marvel created a ton of cool avatars for you to choose from, or you can upload your own image if you prefer (subject to our image guidelines). You can change this photo any time by going to My Profile.

    What information of mine will be open to the public?

    That’s up to you. Please view your Privacy Settings in My Profile, where you can determine what is available to public and what information you would like to keep private.

    How do I find existing friends on Marvel.com?

    Currently, you can only search by username of existing members. However, we’re working on improving our search functionality in the future.

    How do I invite friends to join?

    Log into fans.marvel.com and click on the “Invite Friends” tab within the top navigation. You can enter email addresses and send a personal message to recipients. Once they accept your invitation they will be added to your friends list.

    How do I add/remove friends?

    Within My Profile section, Friends, View Connections you can add or remove friends.

    How do I send a message?

    Sign in, go to the Message Center, and click on Create New Message.

    How many people can I message at once?

    You can select from list of your friends and also add anyone within the system. There is no limit. Simply click on the “To” within Message Center, Create Message and all your friends will appear along with a search mechanism to find any member by name.

    Can I include photo, video, or link in my message?

    You bet. When you create a message you will have the option within the editor to embed media, image or links.

    Who can message me?

    It depends on your privacy settings. You can be contacted by all members or just friends. If you block a member, they will NOT be able to send you messages again unless you unblock them within the Managed Block section under My Profile.

    How do I update my status?

    Go to My Profile and click on Change Status at the top of the page.

    How do I block someone from my friends feed?

    Go to your Friends section in My Profile and you will have the ability to block/unblock a specific user. If you want to block someone not on your friends list, you can block them using the button under their avatar on their profile page.

    What happened to my hero points?

    Your Universe is a new system that does not include hero points at this time.

    How do I delete my account?

    Click on Delete Registration within your control panel

    How do I change appearance of My Profile?

    Go to My Profile Privacy Settings and you can select what you want to make public, private, or only available to your friends. You can also change your Profile photo within the same section under Change Profile Photo.

    What is the URL to My Profile?

    fans.marvel.com/[your member name here]

    Why was I banned or blocked?

    You were in violation of Marvel.com’s Terms of service or another policy of Marvel.com.

    Why was my comment or post removed?

    You were in violation of Terms of service or someone found your comment or post offensive.

    How do I manage my email settings?

    Login to fans.marvel.com, go to your Privacy Settings in My Profile and select whether or not you would like to receive emails of new comments or messages.

    Message Boards have recently changed. What is the difference between old and new forums?

    They may look different but they function pretty much in the same way, except for some of the older/inactive threads, which have been removed for housekeeping reasons. Our new message boards are now part of Marvel’s social network, Your Universe, to make it easier to interact with fans and Marvel staff. It’s all in one place, so post away!
