Phase2 Technology Announces Merger with Treehouse Agency

Alexandria, VA (March 19, 2012) – Phase2 Technology, LLC (“Phase2”), a leading provider of open source technology solutions for publishing, government, public policy and non-profit clients, announced today that it has merged with New York City-based Treehouse Agency, a builder of large-scale Drupal websites for media, government and education clients.

The deal, completed on March 14, 2012, brings together Phase2’s expertise in the development and customization of Drupal-based platforms and distributions for enterprise-level government and publishing clients with Treehouse Agency’s depth of experience in Drupal development. Both parties will continue devoting extensive resources to the development of new product platforms and a variety of open source web technologies.

“We are proud to join two of the world's most innovative open source teams into a best-in-class organization,” said Jeff Walpole, CEO of Phase2. “We’ve experienced strong growth during the past two years, and Treehouse Agency is a natural fit for our continued focus on Drupal services in key markets.”

Phase2 is an innovator in the open source community, recognized for helping expand open source adoption in government and creating powerful Drupal products. A powerhouse in the Drupal community, Treehouse Agency empowers organizations to maximize the potential of open source technologies for greater flexibility, enhanced data accessibility, and cost savings. Both companies are regarded as leaders in advancing the Drupal framework through extensive code and community contribution. Both companies are Acquia Enterprise Select partners and work closely with Acquia on large-scale Drupal implementations.

“With the increased use of open source in publishing and government, the challenge becomes how to build and customize solutions for diverse users and performance requirements,” said Michael Caccavano, CEO and founder of Treehouse Agency. “Combining these two leading agencies will provide the tools and resources that clients need for their mission-critical websites.”

Phase2 CEO Jeff Walpole will remain CEO. Michael Caccavano, CEO and founder of Treehouse Agency, will assume the role of President of Phase2. The company will maintain headquarters in the Washington, DC area with an office in midtown Manhattan. Integration efforts are already underway, to be followed by a brand update set to launch in mid-late 2012.
