The Product Design Research Studio is based in at the University of Dundee – as part of the College of Art, Science and Engineering located in the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. We are a group of researchers, tutors, PHD students and designers. Our main areas of interest are digital products, interaction design, social design and playful new technologies. We are:

Current projects include:

INTERACTIVE NEWSPRINT will work together with people in communities from Preston to experiment with a brand new technology called interactive paper. Researchers from Dundee, Surrey and UCLan want to find out whether interactive paper could become a really interesting way of telling news stories or giving out information about whatโ€™s happening in the local community.

ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET is a 3 year scholarship funded by Microsoft Research to explore new forms of navigation, mainly focused on social and community effects.
