I am a software engineer living in Cambridge, MA.
I enjoy the Internet, networking, low-level systems engineering, relational databases, tinkering on electronics projects, and contributing to and helping other people contribute to open source software.
I am an organizer for the Boston Python Meetup, a 2**10+ member Python user group. We hold several events each month geared towards Python programmers of all experience levels. Our recurring Boston Python Workshop, run jointly with the OpenHatch project, has been hugely successful at bringing new and diverse people into the local Python community and inspiring other outreach events across the country.
Cambridge has fantastic opportunities for local Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) outreach, and I've had the pleasure of putting my science and engineering background to use volunteering with a number of local schools and organizations.
I wrote on a variety of topics related to Linux system administration and security with other Ksplice engineers at the Ksplice blog.
