Alive In Truth records life histories of people from New Orleans, Louisiana and nearby areas who were affected by hurricane Katrina. Our mission is to document individual lives, restore community bonds, and to uphold the voices, culture, rights, and history of New Orleanians.

How to find information in the Alive In Truth collection
- You can search for particular words that appear in the text from the "search" page. This is the first page that comes up when you begin, and can be reached from other pages by pressing the search button.
- Click on the Oral Histories button to browse interview transcripts (listing is sorted alphabetically by interviewee name).
- Click on the Locations button to browse interview transcripts (listing is sorted alphabetically by location in New Orleans).
- Click on the Photos button to browse photos of interviewees (listing is sorted alphabetically by interviewee name).
- Click on the Audio Clips button to browse audio excerpts of interviews (listing is sorted alphabetically by interviewee name).
- Click on the Special Needs button to browse all materials (listing is sorted by whether the interviewee is a senior, youth, or disabled).

Paul Aumer-Ryan, Kate Bronstad, and Melanie Cofield designed the Alive in Truth digital library using Greenstone software.
