Eklavya Development Society has been selected as finalist of manthan award 2012.

Eklavya Development Society (EDS) is working in semi-arid zone of Rajasthan. EDS focus is the vulnerable section of society viz. women, small and marginal farmers, artisans, etc. It is working on the issues of health, education and livelihood for last 9 years in three district of Rajasthan namely Jaipur, Tonk, Sawaimadhopur.  Society has started the activities with a feeling that without educating the younger generation of the society, the concept of grass root development, awareness and proper livelihood is very difficult. With such objective the focus was made on rural Resource development through Education, Health, Natural Resource Management, Women empowerment ,Micro Finance and  Pastureland  Management in Eastern Rajasthan. Eklavya Development Society was instituted as a Registered Society on 20th December , 2001. The organization has taken up the responsibility of creating an environment of  self employment  –and responsive village community.

OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Inequity within the society must be recognized as a political condition, and not simply as the result of a resource gap. Indeed, the conditions and prevalence of poverty represent the deep asymmetry of power between different classes. Our experience reveals that in such circumstances, it is not only sufficient to form and build the capacities of poor people’s organizations. In order to produce equity and access to basic resources, it is equally important to establish partnerships with various dominant institutions in order to promote a model of inclusive development
