CASA launched a project on ‘Integrated Humanitarian Response’ in flood prone Assam

On 5th September 2012, CASA launched a short-term project called ‘Integrated Humanitarian Response’ in order to improve the humanitarian situation in  the most vulnerable flood affected population in Assam, India through the provision of integrated relief assistance.

The project kicked off formally with a   start-up workshop at Guwahati in Assam, which was  participated by staff members from Dan Church Aid (DCA) India office and  CASA, including its Director, Dr. Sushant Agrawal.

While inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Agrawal said that “the project would benefit directly 1,665 most affected families of 18 flood affected villages.  The purpose of the project is to improve the early recovery of the most vulnerable, flood affected target households in Barpeta district though cash transfer to address food needs and support for disaster resilient shelters.”
