Dr. Jennifer C. Ricklin is the Chief Technologist, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. As the principal adviser and consultant to the Commander, Dr. Ricklin is responsible for advising on the Air Force's $2.2 billion science and technology program; additional customer-funded research and development of $2.2 billion; and a global workforce of approximately 10,800 in the laboratory's component technology directorates, 711th Human Performance Wing and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.

Dr. Ricklin has over 27 years of science and technology leadership experience. She began her career with what became the Army Research Laboratory, where she held both bench scientist and management positions. Subsequently, she served as Program Manager with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, where she managed system development programs of national importance and initiated more than 30 studies to explore emergent technologies; and Director for Strategic Technologies, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, where she had profit and loss responsibility for developing strategic business opportunities covering a wide range of technologies.

Dr. Ricklin was elected Fellow of SPIE- the International Society for Optical Engineering and served on its Board of Directors. She has also served on the Air Force Science Advisory Board, chaired over 25 international conferences and workshops, served as Associate Editor for the journal "Optical Engineering" for eight years, and co-authored one book and over 70 papers and patents. Dr. Ricklin is currently on an Intergovernmental Personnel Act Mobility Program assignment to the AFRL from the Georgia Tech. Research Institute.
