Culinary arts. It's an art form…and a career path…that can begin at any age. Pellissippi State offers an accelerated Culinary Arts Concentration in Business Administration that is completed in four semesters. The Culinary Arts concentration marks a first-time program collaboration between Pellissippi State and the University of Tennessee. Working in conjunction with UT's Culinary Institute, Pellissippi State offers advantages for students in terms of instruction, location and cost.
Chefs certified through the American Culinary Federation teach the courses. Graduates certify through the National Restaurant Association in nutrition, food production and sanitation. They can apply to the ACF to become certified culinarians, the first step toward professional chef certification.
Earning an A.A.S. with a concentration in Culinary Arts opens possibilities for a dynamic future in the food service industry—locally and worldwide. Graduates can tap into careers in the following area: restaurants, catering, clubs, hotels, conventions, attractions and travel.
