Aria is an Engineering Physicist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. She is the leader of the Intensity Frontier and Test Beams Group in the Particle Physics Division, which manages the Fermilab Test Beam Facility, and coordinates the activities of the Minos Underground Areas. She also designed and maintains numerous websites, participates on far too many committees, and collaborates on the Muon g-2 experiment.

Aria grew up in New York City, where she attended Laguardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, as a Vocal Music major. At the age of 17 she moved to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University, where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Astrophysics.

Upon graduation Aria came to work at Fermilab where she spent seven years in the Accelerator Main Control Room operating the Tevatron, Main Injector, and their associated accelerators & beamlines. During her tenure as an operator Aria served on the training committee, and worked on a number of projects, including a power outage response procedure, and keeping track of the Operator Storage Area. (It's where they store the extra operators)

At the end of 2011, Aria transfered to the Particle physics division where she took over coordination of the Minos Underground Areas and the Test Beam Facility. In this role she:

  • Renovated the WH12NW Control Room to fit four (4) experiment operations in it. The Nu Room
  • Updated the Fermilab Test Beam Facility website. It used to look like this

Aria is married to Dr. Aron Soha.
