New Conflict of Interest Requirements for All Investigators on NIH and Public Health Service Grants
August 24th, 2012
The University has developed Conflict of Interest Regulatory Compliance Guidelines (PDF) effective August 24, 2012, addressing conflicts of interest associated with research projects funded by the NIH and other Public Health Service (PHS) agencies. For additional information, please contact Karen Pace, kpace@nd.edu in the Office of Research.
In addition, the University Policy Committee has approved revisions to the Conflict of Interest Policy effective August 24, 2012. The policy was updated as a result of changes to financial disclosure requirements identified in federal regulations. Under the revised Conflict of Interest Policy, all faculty and exempt staff members are required to disclose significant financial interests related to their work responsibilities at a new financial threshold definition. This new definition of significant financial interest is reflected in the conflict of interest annual disclosure survey faculty and staff will be asked to complete in October 2012. Questions regarding the policy or disclosure process may be directed to Angela Knobloch, Knobloch.4@nd.edu in the Office of General Counsel. Newly Revised Conflict of Interest Policy (PDF)
