Bold is Beautiful – 10 Websites Where Big & Bold Rule!

I love sites that use bigger fonts and aren’t afraid to wrap them with the < strong > tag to get the idea across. It’s in your face and and to the point and that’s how I like my fonts. Now let’s go watch some football and drink some beer. Oh sorry, big fonts bring out the “man” in me. Haha, ok not really, well maybe a little.

The huge bold font technique was popularized by the web 2.0 movement and while the overall glossy look of web 2.0 seems to have died off quite a bit (thankfully), the big fonts are here to stay. Below are ten sites we think really pull it off nicely.

I’m a big fan of naldzgraphics but for me, the best website design here is “Freelance switch”. Cool, elegant and clean.

I noticed that FortySevenMedia have so far redesigned their site making it even more cool, the same applies to the likes of naldzgraphics who has twinkled their’s a bit. But in overall these are very cool sites.

The best way to go is to lose the template look and be yourself. Love that FortySevenMedia has a tab that states, “Don’t hire us”. Now that is an attention grabber.

I agree that big fonts can be a good choice in web layouts. For example a big font on the brand name, can really help make the branding clear
