Do I Dare To Eat a Peach? is a weekly podcast wherein Dan and Robison Wells, brothers and fellow novelists, discuss the media they’ve consumed lately. They might have an episode about their favorite oldies records, or an episode about sci-fi TV shows, or an episode about what books they’ve been reading lately. They’re brothers, so you can be guaranteed that there will be insults and ad hominem attacks.
We also frequently blog about our media consumption, so our personal posts about music or books or food or movies will be cross-posted here.
As for the title: it comes from The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, a poem by T.S. Eliot. The narrator asks “Do I dare to eat a peach?” and “Shall I part my hair behind?” in the same way he asks “Do I dare disturb the universe?”, illustrating how minor and often trivial decisions can make us freeze. The point of the podcast is to dare you to eat peaches: to try newย things and to sample more of the great experiences that are out available in the world.
