Here’s a country weeper just in time for Christmas: Chuck Mead’s shuffling version of “Will Santa Come to Shanty Town.”

The honky-tonkin’ BR549 frontman recorded this Eddy Arnold chestnut for Plowboy Records, marking the new label’s first holiday single. Hopefully Santa can figure out how to deliver some toys to this poor, well-behaved kid who lives on the wrong side of the tracks. Or will Mommy have to make the toys herself (again)?

The digital single arrives Tuesday (Dec. 4). In the meantime, check out the CMT Edge exclusive debut of Chuck Mead’s “Will Santa Come to Shanty Town.”
