Where I stood, I mean sat, and sewed
and sewed and sewed. We’ll see how the project works out. It will be a very long time before it turns into something. If ever.

A quilt auction!
This beautiful red and white striped quilt was made by our fiber group, Running With Scissors. It could be yours! The quilt is being auctioned on Ebay right now. The auction ends November 22, so check it out and start bidding!
100% of the proceeds go to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, so not only would you be getting a beautiful quilt, but you’d also be helping a wonderful cause!

Gloria and Ethel
This is a quilt I made for Kat’s Secret Life quilt class. Gloria is a tired migrating bird who wishes to sleep all winter, Ethel is a turtle busy digging her burrow wishing she could fly. You never know how good you have it.
This quilt will be on display at the American Sewing Expo in Novi.

Artist’s Trading Cards meeting
Man, what a time I had last night! We had a meeting of our Artist’s Trading Cards group, and we have been working on something very different for us. Usually we work in paper, but we decided to do a prayer flag exchange, and make fabric flags. Everyone was given 20 squares of muslin with no instruction and a short description of prayer flags. Then we brought them all to the meeting last night and exchanged them. I am astounded at the creativity of this group! I haven’t yet had a chance to string my flags, but here are some photos of the exchange.

Yarn bombing
This week I helped yarn bomb (that is, to temporarily decorate trees and such with knitting and other things made of yarn) the Northville Art House. Many folks donated knitting and yarn, I just helped hang some of it around the place. Joan did an amazing job putting it all together!

Prayer flags
One of the art groups I belong to is doing a prayer flag exchange, and I’ve just finished mine!
I sewed buttons on the bottom corners to give them some weight. I made twenty of them, and I’m very happy with the finished product. Thank you, Lynn, for making the screen so I could print them!
