Imagination leads The Drum Design 100 list for 2012

Imagination has been named top design agency in The Drum Design 100, which is published today.

The independent creative agency brought in almost £50m in fee income in 2011. Also making the top ten are Start JudgeGill, Fortune Cookie, Reading Room, Checkland Kindleysides, Rufus Leonard, The Team, Seymourpowell, Emperor Design and 1HQ.

Compiled from a survey of the most prominent agencies operating in design in the UK, from graphic design studios to digital agencies and integrated shops, the list ranks agencies on their UK fee income from design activities for the 2011 calendar year.

Trends from the review include a sway towards digital influence in the design industry, and a lack of willingness from the majority of companies to be categorised in one specialism alone.

Illustrated with creative work from featured companies throughout, the publication also includes a Ones to Watch feature, naming a selection of agencies as key players for 2012, as well as an interview with Deborah Dawton, chief executive at Design Business Association.

The list of all 100 companies, complete with rankings, locations, details of fee income and regional breakdown can be viewed here.

Subscribers can access a downloadable version of the full 54-page report here.
