USAT Certification

Golden Ring Coaching and Coach Tim are certified by the National Governing Body in the U.S.  We have gone through a rigorous training program, testing and background check to ensure the highest standards are met in working with our youth and juniors.   In addition, we have completed the “Respect In Sport” program which incorporates training in the area of coaching ethics and the issues associated in working with youth.   This is a high level program started out of Canada and used with their youth/junior sport programs to prevent abuse and neglect with this audience.  USAT has incorporated the program into their programs.

Coach Tim has also participated in the U.S. based program of The Positive Coaching Alliance which incorporates a 3 leg program of respect for the athlete, sport and others in athletic events.   This program places principals over personalities teaching you to respect all of those around them, no matter what sport they participate.

In 2011, Golden Ring Coaching will be starting a youth/kids beginner series based around Island Lake State Park in preparation for a kids triathlon that is going to be hosted for the first time by Running Fit at the August T-Rex triathlon race.    See the following link for details on this program.  www.trextri.com.

Golden Ring Coaching is also involved with “Alive with Mission Me” for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and preventition of childhood obesity.

AMM is an education based program that is unique in that it is designed to meet the changing needs of today’s students/youth through a non-traditional MultiSport approache.

The first goal is to provide childrne of all fitness levels with an opportunity to experience swimming, biking and running.   AMM allows children to participate at a level and pace appropriate to their individual fitness needs.

The second goal offers a sound and PROVEN solution for combating the contiuing epidemic of obesity and related health issues facing young people today through a variety of fun, high energy activities designed to motivate children to adopt a physically active lifestyle that will continue into adulthood.

The third goal  is to encourage a life long commitment to fitness while promoting cognitive development and application.   Participants not only are encouraged to move, but also to examine how their bodies work and respond to a variety of exercises through various curriculum experiences.

Through the AMM program and our affilitiation with USA Triathlon and USA Cycling, we are able to put together clinics or workshops geared towards youth activity or individual training.
