Global Hospitality Management with Glion Certificate
Kendall College is an Official Affiliate Institution of the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland. With this distinction comes the opportunity for students enrolled in Kendall’s on-campus program to take classes at the Glion Institute and fulfill their internship requirement overseas. In addition, students may sit for the Glion Advanced Certificate in International Hospitality Management administered twice a year in November and In May. Access the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to learn more.
This concentration option gives students a unique multi-cultural perspective as well as the potential for a highly respected international credential to help compete in an increasingly global marketplace.
To qualify for the Glion certification examination, the student must have successfully completed or posted transfer credit for these concentration courses:
Human Resources Management – Considers the functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department and the concept of the support role to line management. Exposes students to a range of contemporary HR management practices and concepts, encouraging them to constantly question these views using previous work experience, cultural background and acquired learning as analytical tools.
Organizational Behavior – Demonstrates how psychological, sociological and cultural theories can be used to describe, explain and predict human behavior. Covers topics in individual, group and social, as well as organizational contexts.
Services Marketing – Examines the service experience from the point of view of both the internal and external customers. Discusses and analyzes the relationship between human resources management goals and marketing goals in light of theoretical models that link these two areas.
Leadership – Considers a wide variety of theoretical approaches used to define, describe and evaluate leadership. Through a process of critical evaluation and reflection, students are able appreciate how individual, organizational and cultural factors can influence the effectiveness of leaders.
The remainder of the concentration credits can be selected by the students.
