Here's a map of 11 of the city's finest new sweet treats to eat right now, with nary a slice of cheesecake or molten chocolate cake in sight; instead, you'll find more creative offerings like a boozy milkshake at a new round-the-clock diner, an unusually-flavored pie, locally made ice cream, and a few deep-fried treats. Calorie counters, look away now.
Pondering where you should eat today, tonight, this weekend? Eater is back to answer that very question with our newest addition of the Heatmap—a guide to what's new, what's hot, and where folks in the know are lining up to dine.
Additions to the February 2013 Heatmap include a casual West End restaurant serving up solid, bargain-priced renditions of Southern classics and a new East Dallas spot dishing up inventive South American cuisine.

LAKE HIGHLANDS—Apparently there's some big football game coming up called the "Super Bowl". If your friends suffer from ADD or just really like to multitask, you can host your party at haute bowling alley Bowl & Barrel; $100 gets you a lane for up to 8 people with unlimited bowling all night, plus a snack spread and shoe rentals, and the game will be broadcast over all the speakers. Call (214) 363-2695 to reserve. [Eaterwire]
DEEP ELLUM—Recently shuttered live music venue La Grange will soon reopen under new ownership that includes the owners of taco chain Fuzzy's; naturally, they'll open a taco spot inside the venue. (Perhaps it'll be better than the other Fuzzy's locations?) [Central Track]
UPTOWN—ZOMG! Olympian/reformed pot smoker/Subway poster Michael Phelps was spotted at Concrete Cowboy last night.... aaaand you missed it. [City of Ate]
