Steve Meller is Chief Innovation Catalyst at Procter & Gamble (P&G) USA and will lead the innovation debate at TiECON Australia 2011 with his talk "Open Innovation: P&G's Lifeblood".

Australian born with a PhD in NeuroScience from the University of Adelaide, Steve has been integral to P&G’s world-leading ‘open innovation’ practice and the very successful ‘Connect & Develop’ program that has yielded more than half of P&G’s new products by leveraging expertise outside the company.

Steve is an accomplished, creative, results-driven executive with a record of success at creating business unit and corporate level strategies delivering increased shareholder value. He has a history of achievement in developing and implementing programs for identifying breakthrough technologies, products, and services that deliver dramatic increases in sales and profits.

He has strong experience leading global programs that are geographically dispersed, multi-cultural and multi-functional. Steve is accomplished at identifying the most important and highest growth opportunities within organizations and then utilizing state-of-the-art approaches to accelerate the innovation process.

Steve has a history of experience in building internal and external innovation networks to quickly and efficiently identify potential solutions or solution providers. He also possesses extensive knowledge and experience with all facets of sustainability, CleanTech and alternative energy.
